Oh Valentines Day….it usually begins with a battle between singles and those in a relationship. The singles call it “Single Awareness Day” while other people post pictures on facebook of their new “bling” given to them by their significant other. The other posts consists of I love my boyfriend statuses. I think Valentine’s Day is more than just the “hallmark holiday” most people hate, I think it is a time to remember to tell the people in your life that you care and love them. Presents are also a main focal point in Valentine’s Day, which I hate, but I must confess I love receiving them. I think my favorite present has been a coach purse. I do not think I have ever had a present on Valentine’s Day that I have not loved. If I got a present I did not like it would depend on who gave it to me, but I would probably pretend to like it because they put a lot of effort into it.
If I were a public relations professional I would set my brand apart from all the other flowers, chocolate, and card businesses by having a quality product for cheaper. Most of these types of presents are given in high school or college settings. This means that the people buying these presents do not have much money to spend. Also, couples spend most of their money for Valentine’s Day on dinner and the “big present” therefore it is important to have chocolates, flowers, and cards prices be much cheaper. Also my company could create a mutual relationship with a few restaurants in the area and give 10 percent off to the restaurant to people who buy all three of my products (flowers, cards, and chocolate).
